The burp cloth

Here is my burp cloth.  Mom (Margaret) had some of this fabric for burp cloths back when I was still living with them after my mission, and I thought it was super cute.  I was lucky enough to find some at a fabric store close to us one day while I was just browsing!  When I made mine I noticed that the flannel I used on top didn't want to move at the same sped as the diaper resulting in the small little tucks.  I also added some ribbon to the top and bottom, but looking back I probably would have left it off or used a different color ribbon to show up better.

I would have made a bib, but things got busy and have interrupted my sewing projects, but maybe if you are lucky Shannon will post a picture of the sewing project she got from me for her little baby.  I forgot to take a picture and don't really have a car seat to use as a model for it.  But, it turned out really cute!  Baby stuff is really fun to make, so I loved this challenge and have looked for other baby things to make especially since I know so many people who are having babies this year.

A sewing machine is made to pull the bottom fabric through the feed dogs a little faster than the top. That's probably why you got little tucks.

Cute. And we always have the same problem with the layers of fabric. Is there a special foot you can buy?

Well, I think it's pretty darn cute! I love the little 'extras' at the bottom. Don't worry, your other project will definitely be posted. :)
