December Gift- Katie Bahr

For the gift I made a fleece cat bed. I got the pattern for it out of the book I won from SewScoresby during the summer. I used a foam pad for the bottom and the sides are stuffed with fiberfill. It was sewn all by hand-YIKES!

It turned out really cute, but since my parents won't let me have a real cat, I had to put my stuffed cats in it for the picture. I gave it to the librarian at my school- the one that my mom works with- because she has a cat. She told me that her cat loves it, and that her cat never wants to get out of bed now. She also said her cat is in heaven because she moved the bed to the screen door so the sun can shine on her. Also, when the librarian received the gift she said that she would never be able to get her cat to move and that her cat would soon be fat. She later told me her theory was right.

I told my mom that I want her to make me a bed like the cat bed for me because it was so soft and adorable!!!! :) I also thought, ' And a matching bed for the cat that you better be getting me for Christmas!'

My sewn gift (in more words than pictures...)

I do not have a picture of my sewing project for this month because I'm don't have my computer.  But, if I had one to show it would look like this...

but it's the wrong book and not sewn together yet.  The finished project looks a little like this book, but of course, of a different variety...
does it kinda make sense?  It really is pretty cute in real life.  And, I hope Lauren really enjoys it in the future

Stuff I Made

So I haven't posted anything in a few months, but I have been sewing some stuff. First, here are 14 memory bears I made for Preston's nieces and nephews out of his dad's shirts. They are similar to the ones Grandma and Aunt Laura made for us, but not nearly as cute.

I also made this family photo matching game out of wooden tiles for some young nieces and nephews. Then I made a little drawstring bag to store them in.I also embroidered this thing and made it into a pillow for Preston's brother and his family. Hand embroidery is something I actually enjoy doing, but I usually frame it.I just had to use this cool nautical themed fabric. You may think all this sewing means I've really grown to love it. That would be wrong. Many a seam was ripped in the making of all these things and many a thought of throwing my sewing machine out the window was entertained. Just wanted to make that clear.
