My mom and I are doing this challenge together. I did most of these hot pads, but she did help me with some of it. It went pretty well. I made these from fabric leftover from the curtain my mom made for my bedroom. It was heavy fabric, but it frayed a lot. We had to pink the edges. One problem I had was that when I sewed all the layers together, the top layer kept pushing towards me, even with the pins in it. The one on the left I machine-quilted along the seams, the other I top-stitched around the edge. This was a fun project for a new sewer like me. I could actually do most of it.
