Well, here they are. Took me about an hour from start to finish. The fabric is some I had already. After finishing them, I'm not too wild about the fabric. I hate hand sewing, so I left the opening as small as possible, which made them kind of hard to turn :) I don't think I really know how to hand sew correctly, but I really don't want to learn! Thinking about giving them to the two ladies I work with, but is it weird to only give one hotpad? Guess I could make more. And do they look good enough to give away? It was kind of fun to make something. It's been a long time since I've done anything but mending.

Katie's
My mom and I are doing this challenge together. I did most of these hot pads, but she did help me with some of it. It went pretty well. I made these from fabric leftover from the curtain my mom made for my bedroom. It was heavy fabric, but it frayed a lot. We had to pink the edges. One problem I had was that when I sewed all the layers together, the top layer kept pushing towards me, even with the pins in it. The one on the left I machine-quilted along the seams, the other I top-stitched around the edge. This was a fun project for a new sewer like me. I could actually do most of it.
