Runway shortie
I made this adorable pattern from It's Always Autumn for Brooke. The pattern she gives is 12-18 months, so I just enlarged it just a little and hoped that would fit. It was really pretty simple to make, but I did get a little confused at the shorts section, because the pieces didn't match up. . I also did my own thing for the cuff, because those directions confused me, but they look great, so I'm not concerned.
I think it is ridiculously cute. It is a little too snug, so she won't wear it a ton, but baby can wear it next summer. I'm planning on making another a touch bigger for Brooke. I'll probably just add an inch or so all around. Do you think that would work okay?

That pattern is pretty forgiving, so I'm sure just adding a little around will make the tummy area a little bigger. Plus, I think kids are small enough and have pretty uniform body shapes (you know, like a rectangle shaped torso) that you don't have to worry about curves, etc. like you would for an adult. Make sense?
I should make one for Meghan because it is so cute, but she has a ton of summer clothes.
Super cute. An inch might be a bit big in some places (armhole/shoulders), but you can just use a shirt that fits Brooke to size out those if you need to.
