The Downton Coat could be cute for a girl, but the style of the fabric I had didn't really match the style of that pattern, so I went looking for what I wanted and settled on this pattern from Burda.
Cute, huh? Once I opened the digital pattern, I realized it was going to be a lot harder than Owen's coat. There were just two pages of cutting and sewing instructions, one of how to tape the printed pages together and what materials to use, and one of sewing instructions, including one drawing of the coat. The instructions were short, vague and hard to follow, but I got the coat made. I still don't understand what some of the instructions meant, but it's done.
I haven't tried it on Camille because it's going to be her Christmas present from us, but it should be plenty big since I made the equivalent of US size 4. I'm hoping she will like it since I used Minnie Mouse fabric (pink with white dots) for the lining. Thanks to Mom for giving me that fabric.

I'm still unhappy with the how the buttons are lined up. |

And that's the box pleat that I picked out at least 3 times and still couldn't center. |

That's pretty cute. It looks plenty big, too.
Did you see that Joann's black friday sale is pretty awesome for fabric. Today and tomorrow flannel is $1.74 a yard. And then black friday most cotton fabric and fleece is 75% off. Anyway, you should look up there ad online, I'm going to be there.
Hancock also has some pretty good sales, too. I'll be there since it is only 1 minute from home instead of 15.
You are sew crafty! I don't know if I am brave enough to sew a coat.
How embarrassing. I used the wrong form of their.
