Lauren's Lounge Pants

I'm not really into sewing clothes for myself. Or sewing clothes in general. I find I can usually find things for cheaper in stores and then I don't have to spend the time and frustration in making something that looks like I made it.

But I wanted to participate in the challenge, so I used this tutorial to make a pair of lounge pants out of one of Preston's old t-shirts. I have to call them lounge pants because by law, kids' pajamas have to be either made of flame resistant material or very tight fitting. These are neither. So I call them lounge pants and if she happens to fall asleep wearing them........I would wake her up and put flame resistant pajamas on her, naturally.

These are super low rise. The pants I used as a guide were a good couple of inches too long, so I wanted to shorten them, but being me, I took the extra off the top instead of the bottom. Duh.

I didn't want to waste the rest of the shirt, so I used the sleeves to make a quick pair of shorts. No close ups on the shorts because I managed to sew one side inside out (see above about things I make looking like I made them).

Here's the link to the tutorial. Blogger and IE 9 don't get along and it's not letting me link to it. http://www.rookiemoms.com/make-some-easy-kids-pants/

Both the shorts and the lounge pants look super comfy! Way to be super thrifty using the old t-shirt.

Very thrifty indeed! A true Allred. They look good and Lauren seems to like them.
