Laura's tote bag

Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute. I guess I still have about 90 minutes left, technically. (It was over 120 when I started this post. WHY is this still so hard for me?) So it's not the VERY last minute.

Every month when I see the assignment I think "I'm not going to make that because I don't need another ____ (fill in the blank)." But then I start looking online and I see what you all are making and they are so cute I change my mind. SO QUIT MAKING SUCH CUTE STUFF!!

So here is my tote bag. I think it's cuter in person, if I may just say so! I saw this online and decided that "I can do that. How hard can it be?" Hard. It can be hard. I even bought charm squares like she used, but apparently all charm squares are not created equal. Mine were bigger than hers, which I discovered after I had cut out all the other pieces and sewed the squares together. So I had to go back and sew deeper seams to make them smaller so they would fit the rest of the pieces. My seam ripper is still smoking.... I may have to retire it after this project.

The pictures loaded backwards, so you get the inside first. It's lined, and I added an inside pocket.

The corners are mitered so it (kind of) stands up on it's own. Here's the outside. Drumroll, please.....

I'm thinking a bag for church, or maybe to take to school in the fall...you know, lunch, snack, water bottle, etc.

Thanks for another challenging project, Margaret!

Joanna, I guess you chances for winning the prize this month have dramatically decreased!

Fantastic, Laura! I love the colors and the little closure.

It looks pretty cute in the pictures, so I can't imagine how cute it is in real life.

I agree with Emily--it looks good enough to sell.

I love it! If you decide you don't need it, I'll take it off your hands.
