Congratulations to all who have been faithfully completing the monthly challenges! The blankets were all very cute.
December's challenge is to sew something as a gift. There are lots of possibilities here. It could be something we've already practiced, such as potholders or pj's or a bag. Here are some more ideas:
Laura suggested coasters (http://patspattering.blogspot.com/2011/02/criss-cross-coaster-tutorial.html) or pillowcases (http://www.with-heart-and-hands.com/2009/05/burrito-or-magic-pillowcase-tutorial.html or http://tipnut.com/pillowcase-patterns/.)
Rene suggested neckties: http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2009/5/21/mollys-sketchbook-fathers-day-tie.html.
For a child, how about a crayon roll (http://www.skiptomylou.org/2007/04/25/on-a-roll/) or a stuffed animal (http://patternshmattern.blogspot.com/2011/05/stuffed-animal-owl-pattern-and-tutorial.html)?
For those of you who actually do your visiting teaching, you could whip up a little something for the sisters you visit. (Sorry--I'm a little cynical when it comes to visiting teaching.) I will be incredibly happy if you post a picture of something you've made and taken to your teachees.
There are many, many, many patterns out there for things to sew. Have some fun looking around, choose a project, get busy and get it done and come back here to report by Dec. 1. Can't wait to see what you all come up with.
PS. If you completed projects in earlier months, but didn't get around to posting them, you're welcome to do so now.
