Okay, ladies, the winner of the August Challenge is...Emily Pitts (the younger!). You all did a wonderful job on your sewing projects. Emily, your prize will be in the mail.
Now we are embarking on a two-month challenge. As I mentioned before, the challenge for Sept/Oct is a blanket. You can, of course, make any kind of blanket you like. Here are some ideas:
1. A chenille backed baby blanket.
2. A rag blanket.
3. A self-binding blanket.
4. You may also make a fleece blanket, even if it doesn't involve sewing. There are many tutorials for the no-sew kind, but we have also enjoyed making simple fleece blankets which consist of two layers of fleece simply sewn together about 3 or 4 inches in with the fabric outside the stitching cut into a fringe.
Many of the tutorials are for baby blankets, but you can always just make them bigger. Also, there are many, many tutorials for simple quilts, etc.
So knock yourselves out this month, ladies! I expect to see some great projects. Since this is a two month challenge, I will post a reminder about halfway through.
